Router-Based Unrestricted Digital Internetworking Connectivity Solutions (RUDICS) is an enhanced data service that enables customers requiring large data transfers have the ability to transfer data through reliable, affordable, multi-protocol Mobile Originated (MO) and Mobile Terminated (MT) circuit-switched data connectivity over the Iridium satellite network. It uses circuit switching technology via a dial-up modem and ISDN for low-bandwidth data transfer for Iridium subscriber units (ISUs), which allow a host application to initiate and terminate multiple connections simultaneously. Often these applications are designed to support hundreds or thousands of remote units.
